The JBL Flip 6 offers an impressive output power of 30W, delivering a robust and immersive sound experience. With a dynamic frequency response range of 63 Hz – 20k Hz, this portable speaker ensures clear audio across various frequencies.

I’ve tested the JBL Flip 6 in different environments, and its sound performance has consistently impressed me. The wide frequency range ensures that both bass-heavy tracks and high-pitched vocals come through clearly.

The JBL Flip 6 features Bluetooth 5.1 technology, with support for Bluetooth profiles A2DP 1.3 and AVRCP 1.6, and with support for SBC and AAC codecs, the speaker offers clear and detailed sound reproduction across different music genres. The speaker has an IP67 rating, making it resistant to water and dust.

It impresses with its long-lasting battery, offering up to 12 hours of continuous playtime on a single charge, and it fully charges in 2.5 hours. The settings that you use impact the battery life you’ll get, but fortunately you can use the speaker while it’s charging.

The JBL Flip 6 is impressively compact, measuring just 7 x 2.6 x 2.8 inches and weighing a mere 0.55 kg. It easily fits into a bag or backpack for convenient portability on the go. Despite its small size, the JBL Flip 6 doesn’t compromise on sound quality; it delivers robust audio that fills any room with clarity and power.

The speaker is wrapped with a strong, tight fitted material which does not easily rip. The controls and ends are covered with rubber, but the USB-C charging port is not covered by anything.  The speaker lets you know with a beep sound if you’re too close to salt, water or other potentially harmful substances.

Through the JBL portable app, you can locate other JBL speakers and connect them in party(mono) mode or in stereo mode. This only works with the speakers that have Partyboost enabled. You can pair two devices with the Flip 6 this way. However, the speaker doesn’t have any wired inputs that you can pair your devices through, you will have to use bluetooth.

They mention that it has a very nice sound quality and that it looks good, they highlight the bass of this speaker. They also appreciate the value, performance, and portability. However, some customers are mixed on the battery life. Some customers as satisfied with the battery life while some customers report the battery draining too fast. The JBL Flip 6 is called sleek and stylish by many customers. Users also like its ability to link up with other JBL speakers and play the same sound.

Verdict

For its size, specifications, and price, this speaker sounds fantastic. I listen to a variety of music and all sound quite pleasant. In both loudness and sound quality, this speaker provides a large step up from the built-in speakers of any smartphone, tablet, or laptop. The sound mix out of the box is reasonably well-balanced, with punchy bass and subtly boosted mids and highs. As long as the speaker was on a solid surface, I couldn’t detect distortion until the volume was well over 75%. Certain higher-pitched vocals can sound over-boosted, but that’s easy to mitigate by adjusting the equalizer in the JBL mobile app. The user interface is simple and easy to use, and the battery has given me no issues. Overall, I recommend the JBL Flip 6 to everyone, it impresses with its durability, powerful sound output, and impressive battery life.
